Back to back, two one-week workshops on chapter 1 "Situation Analysis" of the Risk-based Strategy Plan (RBSP) for FMD control, in Lao PDR and Cambodia.

Quite an event with the first two days intense consultation of private and public stakeholders alongside the national FMD committees.

Mapping of value-chains, identification of stakeholders in these value chains and assessing the risks of FMD introduction and spread along these value chains.

This was followed by three days elaborating the output of those first two days with the national committees to outline the current situation on FMD and its control.

Later the year, further work on addressing identified risks through specific strategies and tactics. For sure, main issues are with uncontrolled livestock movements and weak enforcements of existing regulations.
